Christmas was amazing,it was too good to see my family and friends who I haven’t seen for so long.I’ve really missed them and vowed to try and get home more often (easier saidthan done). I like being able to go to my local pub and see familiar faces, itmakes me feel very reminiscent of teenage years. Who knew they would disappearso fast? I suppose everyone who is older than me knew this, and tried to tellme so many times.  You don’t knowwhat you’ve got until its g...

So I have decided for all hallow's eve (my favourite corporate holiday !) to throw a house party.

My friend and i have been making some papier mache reliefs and small sculptures to adorn the house.

Some skating and chemistry.

The boys from the house that lived in last year are back for their second year at uni.

Four of the most random boys you will ever meet. Its completely evident in what they study. James is studying Music Journalism, Shard is studying Philosophy, Tom is studying Sports Science and Richard is studying Creative writing.

They don’t have one particular thing in common, apart from all being part of the counter-culture in some way. James has brought his car for a week and so today...

SO, although I have graduated, and been through my graduation ceremony etc, I still have one module to do at uni  in order to get my full honours degree.

Today I enroled, and sorted out all of my information for my module.

Its nice because so many of our friends from last year who are still real students have come back now !

Summer is drawing to a close, and I am looking to start my fourth/fifth year here. it is a little depressing knowing that all of my original cla...

About 4/5 months ago(after much pestering) my friend put some dreadlocks in for me, at the timehowever I already had a mohawk- so I ended up with a dreaded-mo! Nowthough,  I have decided to get ridof my dreadlocks.  I’m going toshave them all away and try and grow my hair so that I can be received as a bitmore ‘normal’. My mother would be so proud!

I’ve decided that I’mgoing to keep them and maybe make some art out of them eventually. Maybe Icoul...

I had to go toWolverhampton for work today. Learning how to be a receptionist. Its really rivetingstuff. Looking on the bright side I’m hoping that this job will be anopportunity to network, amongst other things. So today whilst in Wolves, I tookthe opportunity of the free train ticket to go to their local art Gallery.

There were some interestingpieces there. I enjoyed the exhibition, I took a few pictures, but they don’tdo the work justice, by any means, due to the poor qu...

the strangeness of the last few months: moving house

Moving house was another strange thing.

It took a very very long time to find somewhere to live.I wanted to make sure I had a house, by when my mum came to see me for graduation. It proved difficult. You need so much money! Deposits are extortionate.

Somehow, (well with the help of my very good friend and new house mate Martin) we managed to find somewhere and moved in the day before mum arrived!

There were a few set backs however, no ...

the strangeness of the last few months: work

Posted by siobhan on July 30, 2010 at 11:44 AM Comments comments (0)

I worked for a bank, for 3 weeks, and then managed, completely unwittingly, to commit a breach of data protection and was told I wouldn’t be needed any longer. So now I’m working in a hotel! it’s the same pay, and its much less stressful working a 5minute walk away in a nicer environment, than working an hour away in a vile place. It wasn’t my style. I’m not planning on being a receptionist all my life, but at the moment I have bills to pay, and a soc...
